Umpiring with MCNC

Any players, aged 13 and above, are able to begin their umpiring pathway with MCNC.

The MCNC ‘Beginner Umpire Course’ is a free course held by the club to get new umpires started on their umpiring pathway. The course has been designed by the Sunshine Coast Netball Association.

Along with the pre-course theory prerequisite and the two-day practical course, young umpires will have the basics to start umpiring our NetSetGo Green and Gold teams at Saturday fixtures.

Beginner Umpires will continue to receive coaching during these fixture games to increase their confidence, knowledge and skill level so they can progress to NetSetGo White games where full match rules apply.

Course Pre-requisites

Beginner Umpire FAQs

  • Umpires will be rostered (depending on number of umpires) to cover our NetSetGo Green and Gold teams. These games are typically played on the last round each Saturday. The time will be confirmed once the season is underway.
  • Rosters will be sent out a few weeks in advance so that any changes to umpire availability can be amended.
  • If an umpire cannot make their allotted game on the day, you must contact Jess Pevreal so that a replacement umpire can be arranged ASAP.
  • Beginner umpires will be paid for each NetSetGo Green and Gold game by MCNC at the end of the season as bulk payment. Umpires will receive $7 per game.
